Double-Acting Positioning Relay

The positioning relay is an adjunct to another control component, particularly a pneumatic actuator. It obtains precise and controlled positioning of such components or, in the case of an actuator, of the actuator's output shaft. The relay changes an input signal to the actuator into two output pressres whose magnitudes (in lbs/inches squared) vary inversely to each other. In other words, as the input signal increases from a mean pressure, one output signal increases, the other decreases.
