The regulating valve controls fuel oil pressure to the burners of a steam generating plant. The valve operates on the force-balance principle, utilizing the pneumatic loading signal of a combustion control system to position the valve stem. To keep the stem balanced, the pneumatic force is opposed by a hydraulic one obtained from the fuel oil valve outlet flange. A handwheel allows an operator to adjust the valve during an emergency. A minumum fuel oil pressure stop is provided.
